We are looking to find a driven and collaborative leader to work primarily from our Youth Centre in Exeter. The role will be at the beginning of a new era for our organisation, supporting the evolution of our Services to youth people. In this role, you will work alongside leadership colleagues to successfully hold responsibility for our financial controls, reporting to the board and securing our short, mid and longer term objectives. You will line manage and lead a small team and our new Operational Lead and through them you will ensure all areas of governance and support to our various teams are delivered. What is the role
Key activities to expect
Contribute to the strategic direction of Space Youth Services
Support an operational & support team with the governance and smooth running of our services
Work with the Board and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to develop, implement and monitor the organisation’s short, medium and long term financial plan
Prepare monthly/quarterly management accounts and annual budgets, and report performance against these to Trustees and support budget holders to control their areas of responsibility
Guarantee robust accounting records are kept and ensure effective management of transactional financial services and the creation of a strong internal control environment
Liaise with external auditors on the effective reporting to stakeholders of our financial position including production of Annual Accounts
Budget holding for various lines including building & vehicle related expenditure
About You:
Highly experienced in finance.
Proven record of success in charity sector and a deep understanding of the unique governance and approach in our sector
Passion for supporting and advocating for the rights of young people
Creative and can see opportunities to grow and develop people and teams
Respectful with excellent empathy and kindness to colleagues
