Volunteering at Space Youth Services

I have recently trained as a mentor for young people and I am now working 1-1. In my working career I have worked with young people in many different fields. Having retired I found that I really missed that connection with YP.

I found the Space training very interesting and informative. The continuing support from both the Youth centre staff and supervision is excellent.

It’s a real privilege to be able to walk along side a young person who is experiencing some difficulties. From my perspective as an older person it keeps me in touch with the challenging issues that young people face. It can be challenging at times but also fun. I hope the YP gets as much out of the sessions as I do.
