Education Support Service (ESS)

Space Education Support Service is a team of professional youth workers and teachers. We offer a three-way working partnership between schools, young people and our service, that focuses on the young person.

Our unique education support service is delivered using specialist youth work interventions in primary (yr 5+) and secondary schools. We are proud to help to develop and improve educational access and outcomes for young people.

Our Packages

  • One-to-one support

    Helping young individuals to improve in their education through youth work fundamentals. This one-to-one support will allow a tailored service to help individuals grow and unlock their potential in their education.

    Eligibility: Year 5 to Year 13

    Pricing: £52 per hour

  • Bespoke group work

    Our bespoke group work sessions are designed based on specific needs and learning required. Whether in small groups of up to three or larger cohorts of up to ten, our bespoke approach ensures targeted support and purposeful collaboration.

    Eligibility: Year 5 to Year 13

    Pricing: 1 youth worker in a small group is £75 an hour. 2 youth workers in a large group is £165 an hour.

  • Primary wellness module

    Our Primary Wellness Programme, featuring modules such as Relationship Building, Looking After Me, Aspirations, and Inspirations, provides comprehensive support for students in years 5 & 6. Through interactive activities and our bespoke journal, participants explore essential topics such as teamwork, nutrition, self-care planning, and goal-setting to nurture resilience and manage mental health.

    Eligibility: Year 5 and Year 6

    Pricing: 6 week programme (one session a week) £885

  • Secondary wellness module

    Tailored for students in years 7 - 9, our Secondary Wellness Programme builds on foundational concepts of empathy, resilience, and self-esteem. Supplementing these with Module 4, Interdependence and Independence, participants develop practical skills including financial literacy, career exploration, and self-awareness to navigate adolescence with confidence.

    Eligibility: Year 7- Year 9

    Pricing: 4 week programme (one session a week) £600

  • Harmful sexual behaviours

    Our structured 6-week programme addresses Harmful Sexual Behaviours (HSB) among students in years 9 and above. Aligned with the PSHE curriculum, this program offers holistic education on consent, healthy relationships, and navigating online spaces safely. By integrating feedback from participants and schools, we refine our approach to maximize impact and support for young people.

    Eligibility: Years 9 to Year 13

    Pricing: 6 week programme (one session a week) £885

  • Not My Sentence

    This programme is for young people who have experienced a family member go to prison and are struggling. There is little support for young people who experience a family member going to prison. So we have teamed up with Safer Devon to offer young people support and information.

    Eligibility: Aged 8 - 16

  • Navigating the Web Critical Thinking in a Digital World

    A 6-week programme for secondary school-aged young people around online safety, recognising misinformation and understanding information online. In response to the misinformation that was spread online in relation to recent events (2024), SPACE has created a programme aimed at teaching young people how to spot misinformation, how to fact check, the law, deep fakes, porn and staying safe online.

    Eligibility: For years 7+
