Welcome to The Station Youth Centre (Newton Abbot)

Here at The Station Youth Centre we offer a safe space for young people to hang out, have fun, get information and support, as well as meet new people. We offer a wide range of activities and opportunities for young people and there is something for everyone. Youth workers are available to answer any questions you may have and if they don’t know the answers to your questions, they will help you to find them!

The Centre has some fantastic facilities. In our main area we have pool tables, the latest games consoles and air hockey, all free to use! We also have a DJ area and dance area. We have a dedicated music room and recording studio, so you can try out the instruments and equipment. Our sensory room and 1-2-1 room are also available. Anyone is welcome to come and look before accessing any of our sessions.

We have a large open plan area with tables and sofas where young people can catch up with peers and meet new friends.

The Tuck shop offers a wide range of snacks and treats. We also have the best milkshakes in town! In our sessions we provide young people with the opportunity to learn new skills through cooking and share with others.

Our kitchen is fully equipped for you to learn new skills or just practice becoming the next best chef!

Our music recording studio is kitted out with all you need to record and compose a track, it can also be rigged up to the musical rehearsal room to record instruments.

Our music rehearsal room is full of various instruments for young people to try out and use. We have drums, guitars, keyboards and percussion instruments.

The console area has a multiple choice of the latest consoles and games for young people to enjoy and share with friends.

The sensory room offers a variety of sensory stimulation. It creates a calm and comforting environment for young people with SEND to explore.

Our Sessions

No need to book! All our sessions cost £1 to attend, so just come along to a session. To become a member, you can sign up online or on arrival at our youth centre. If you would like to visit the centre before attending a session, be sure to get in touch!

  • We will be closed for summer from 22nd July - 3rd September 2024 (The first session back will be on the 4th) - We will be running our summer program for current members during this period.

  • Summer (19th July - 4th September) Drop-In Session - open to 13+ every Thursday 12-2

  • Juniors

    Wednesdays 6:00 - 9:00 pm

    Years 7 & 8

    This is a session for school years 7 and 8. Come along and enjoy discos, cooking, take part in competitions, make jewellery, skipping & lots more! There is always an activity to get involved in! It is a great opportunity to make new friends and have fun.

  • Seniors

    Thursdays 6:30 - 9:00 pm

    Years 9 to 19 years old

    This session is for years 9 – up to 19 years old. It’s a chilled drop-in session where you can meet friends, talk to youth workers (about anything & everything), use our recording studio & take part in activities you want to. Otherwise, simply enjoy a safe & warm place to go! Youth Workers can support with information on lots of topics.

  • Inters

    Fridays 6:30 - 9:00 pm

    Years 8, 9 & 10

    This is our session for years 8, 9 & 10 – giving you a space to be yourself and have a chilled but fun time! We put on the activities you ask for, like sports, cooking, arts. The Station Youth Centre is a safe place where you can talk to Youth Workers around various different topics.

Our SEND Sessions

We offer SEND Sessions, so if you have additional needs, a learning difficulty or a visible or hidden disability, we understand that you may thrive in a setting that provides more support. We have specialist sessions in different parts of the county just for you.

These sessions are £1 to attend, and no need to book, so just come along. To become a member, you can sign up online or on arrival at our youth centre. If you would like to visit the centre before attending a session, be sure to get in touch!

  • No Limits

    Tuesdays 6:00 - 8:30 pm

    Years 7 - 19 years old

    This is a session for ages 11-19 with special educational needs and disabilities. We have a lot of fun on Tuesday’s & a huge variety of activities, like cooking, air hockey, arts, parachute games, music and other workshops. We learn about various topics such as life-skills & how to get on with each other (even if you don’t like everything about someone) to show that we are all unique.
